There's nothing better than getting out for a run, clearing your head, catching up with friends, burning off stress or aiming at PB's. There's nothing worse than being prevented from running due to injury. Pilates for Runners classes are designed to work on improving biomechanics, working on strength and improving endurance of the muscles used when running. Over time this should reduce your risk of injury, improve your running form and your performance.
The classes are run online via zoom - they are live at 7.30am on a Saturday morning. Once life returns to normal, the intention is that the class can be done to prepare for your weekend run or park run, without interfering with your day.
If this time doesn't suit you then you can catch up on the class whenever it suits you during the month.
"Before I started Pilates for Runner the first mile or more of each run felt creaky and stiff. Running straight after a Pilates session is so lovely and smooth" Sally; Chorlton
"Since starting Pilates for Runners with Alexis it has really helped me think about how I run and which areas I need to strengthen to lesson the chances of injury and insure a good post run recovery. The classes are fun and educational, I always learn something about the human body and in particular my own and I have become a more conscious runner. Thanks Alexis" Kate; Sweden
"I am really enjoying learning about how my body work's (or doesn't work as well as I hoped) for running. Fantastic sessions and short videos that build endurance, flexibility and mobility through my whole body, at all levels, and great to work on and think about while out on the walk, jog or run" Liisa, Penrith
"Pilates for Runners has made me so much more aware of my body and how I use it when running. Previously, I knew that pilates was good for you but could never motivate myself sufficiently to commit to a class. I don’t have much spare time, and Alexis’ pilates for runners classes feel so much more worthwhile than a general pilates class. She makes sure that you understand the benefits of the exercises you complete, relating it to running throughout. I can really feel that the classes target the bits of my body that I use – and abuse - running. I know that if I keep it up my form will improve and injury feels less likely. Thanks Alexis – I’m a convert!" Imogen, The Peaks
